A stoppage time goal from Branco van den Boomen gave Heerenveen a 2-1 win at Roda JC in Kerkrade.

The game burst into life five minutes after the break when Luciano Slagveer delivered a measured cross for Arber Zeneli to head the visitors ahead.
Roda JC coach Darije Kalezić reacted immediately with a double substitution. Henk Dijkhuizen and Farshad Noor went to the bench, while Ard van Peppen and Kristoffer Peterson came on. Minutes later Peterson raced through the Heerenveen defence before firing a strike against the inside of the post, and Tom van Hyfte netted on the rebound.
It seemed the game was heading for a draw but in the 92nd minute van den Boomed found the top corner with a free-kick from an acute angle to give Heerenveen victory.
The win moves Heerenveen 12 points clear of danger, and the Frisian’s should be comfortable in 13th, while Roda JC are one place and six points behind.
