Roda JC moved themselves off the bottom of the table after a comfortable victory over 10-man Groningen.

The hosts found themselves in 18th place after ADO Den Haag’s win over NEC on Saturday but they dominated proceedings on Sunday from the start and deservedly took the lead on the half hour mark. Mikhail Rosheuvel fired a perfect cross to the back post where Abdul Ajagun headed into the net.
Roda JC continued to dominate after the goal and ten minutes into the second half Christian Kum headed in a corner to make it 2-0. Dani Schahin then sealed the victory with another header from close range on 66 minutes.
Bryan Linssen pulled one back with an excellent strike but the Groningen winger then saw red in stoppage time for a poor challenge.
The win lifts Roda JC up to 16th while Groningen are 11th.
