English Premier league side Everton were close to a deal for the Netherlands defender in the summer, but the deal fell through when a price could not be agreed between the clubs.
Now according to Talksport, and reports in Italy, Roma are looking to swoop for Martins Indi, who can play in the centre and left side of defence, when the transfer window opens in January.
The 21-year-old has a deal with Feyenoord until 2016, but the club fear that they will lose their star defender, after disagreements with coach Ronald Koeman over what is Martins Indi’s best position.
Since making his debut in the 2010-11 season, the defender has made 100 appearances for Feyenoord, and won 12 caps with Netherlands national team.
Netherlands coach Louis van Gaal see’s Martins Indi as one of the country’s best centre backs, and he is widely expected to be part of the squad heading to next summer’s World Cup.
