strootmanddnStrootman tore his anterior cruciate ligament in a defeat to Napoli last March, which forced him to miss the World Cup in the summer, and he is yet to return to full training.

Speaking to the media after Roma’s 1-1 draw with Manchester City in the Champions League, Garcia said he expects the player to be back playing in December.

Garcia said, “I want to have him available for the home match against City [on December 10], which will be crucial.

“He is a midfielder of the highest level and we’re waiting for him to return. We hope to have him back soon.”

Strootman has been constantly linked with a move to Manchester United, and on the rumours Garcia added, “Strootman for sale? You must speak about this with our president,”

“But the intention of the club is very clear: Strootman is an important talent for us.”
