strootmanddnStrootman has been constantly linked with the English Premier League club since Louis van Gaal became coach, and rumours state that Manchester United will make a bid for the midfielder in January once he has returned from a long time injury.

However Roma President James Pallotta took to twitter to clear up the rumours and take a swipe at the British Media who keep publishing the stories.

Pallotta tweeted, “There has been non stop reporting in UK newspapers about Kevin Strootman and Manchester United,”

“Kevin Strootman is not for sale and has never ever been discussed in that vein at Roma. They are wasting paper.

“We consider Kevin an integral highly valued partner in our long term plans.”

Strootman has made 25 league appearances for Roma since joining from PSV Eindhoven in 2013.
