The coach stated that he felt PEC Zwolle’s victory was fully deserved. His side are now unbeaten in 4 Eredivisie matches having had a difficult start to the season.
Jans said, ”It was a spectacular start to the game from both sides where Go Ahead Eagles had a chance within the first 20 seconds and then after 2 minutes we scored to go 1-0 up through Queensy Menig.
”I believe that we fully deserved to win this game. I will also admit there were times when we were 2-1 up that Go Ahead Eagles could have come back to get something out of the game.
”This result does not mean that we are completely out of the mix of teams in and around the bottom of the Eredivisie. I said before the game in the changing room to the players that although we are on an upward curve there is still a lot of work to be done. A lot of young players have fought hard during this IJsselderby and we showed today that we can play good football and we want to do that more often.”
