koeman-jrThe goalkeeper stated that it was a great experience and that his father, Everton manager Ronald Koeman, rang to wish him good luck before the game started. Koeman Jr felt that FC Oss could hold their head up high after their performance in De Kuip. Feyenoord won the match 4-1 and now play Excelsior Rotterdam in the 2nd round of the KNVB Cup.

Koeman Jr said, ”It was a fantastic experience to play in such a game in De Kuip. It’s just a shame that we lost the game. I was a little nervous before the game but that is only healthy. I was also curious about the reaction of the Feyenoord supporters but they were great.

”My father rang me before the game last night to wish me good luck. He told me to stay calm and just to play my game . It’s a shame that he could not be here in person but I also have to take into account the type of work he does but I believe he watched the game and my family and friends were also here in attendence.

” I believe I played a reasonable game tonight but I have to watch the goals again. We were unlucky not to equalize and make it 2-2. We started the game with damage limitation and we played well in the first half to keep it at 1-1 at half time, but we can look back at the game in a positive manner.”
