Royal Antwerp has confirmed the signing of Dutch striker Vincent Janssen.

After Janssen made his Netherlands return in the win over Wales last week, it became clear that the forward was on his way back to Europe from the Mexican side Monterrey.

Janssen has now signed a four-year deal with Belgian side Royal Antwerp, who have Marc Overmars as their technical director and Mark van Bommel as head coach.

The 28-year-old played for Almere City, AZ, Tottenham Hotspur, and Fenerbahçe before he moved to Monterrey three years ago. The 17-time Netherlands international made 94 appearances for Monterrey, scoring 24 times.

Janssen will use the move to convince Louis van Gaal that he deserves a place in the World Cup squad.
