According to Voetbal International, Robbin Ruiter is set to sign a two-year contract with Sunderland.

The goalkeeper has been out of contract since leaving Utrecht at the end of the season and recently went on trial in Sunderland.

His performances in training and in the friendly with Scunthorpe United have convinced coach Simon Grayson of his ability and there is an agreement in principle over a two-year contract. The 30-year-old is due in the north east of England on Tuesday night and the deal is expected to be announced on Wednesday.
