Sampdoria announced the pre-contract signing of Moisander in January, but the 29-year-old has now put pen to paper on his three-year-deal and will move to Italy when his Ajax contract expires in July.
A statement on the Sampdoria website read, “Niklas Moisander will be a blucerchiato player starting from next season,”
“UC Sampdoria and Massimo Ferrero are delighted to announce the signing of a three-year deal with the Finnish defender, who will remain under contract with AFC Ajax until June 30, 2015.”
“We wish him the best of luck for the end of the season with Ajax and with Finland, and we wait for him in Genoa, ready and driven to face this new, fascinating adventure in the world’s most beautiful colours.”
The Finnish defender has spent two spells at Ajax, with time at PEC Zwolle and AZ in between, and has so far made 74 appearances for the Amsterdam club.
