According to Sky Italia, Sampdoria wants to bring Wesley Sneijder back to Serie A and have a two-year deal ready for the midfielder.

The Galatasaray veteran was heavily linked with a move to MLS side Los Angeles FC on Wednesday, but it now appears that a return to Italy could be on the cards.

Sampdoria president Massimo Ferrera is quoted by Italian press confirming that they are in talks about Sneijder joining the club, and he believes the Dutchman can be of value for “A few years.”

Sky Italia add that Sneijder can sign a two-year deal with Sampdoria, earning him €2.5 million a year. The former Ajax and Real Madrid star spent four seasons with Inter Milan before joining Galatasaray in 2013.
