The German left PSV last summer looking to move home, but then rejoined the club on a one-year deal after failing to find a club in his homeland.
However, PSV are not set to extend Schwaab’s deal past this summer. New trainer Roger Schmidt does not see in his countryman the right type of defender for his football philosophies.
Kostas Mitroglou is also set to leave, while a decision on Ibrahim Afellay will be made later.
PSV will announce the full list of players who will be released this summer soon.
