The former midfielder was confirmed as the new Deportivo coach last week and was charged with the task of keeping the struggling club in La Liga.

His first game in charge was on Monday night as Real Betis visited theĀ Estadio Riazor, but there was to be no perfect start for Seedorf as a second-half goal by Loren Moron gave the away side all three points.

Deportivo now sit second bottom of the table and three points from safety. Seedorf will be looking for his first win this Saturday when his side travel to Alaves.
