lachman tweThe 25-year-old today signed a two-year-contract with Sheffield Wednesday after the English side agreed an undisclosed fee with cash-strapped FC Twente for the centre back.

Lachman told the clubs website, “I’ve always dreamed of playing in England so I’m really looking forward to playing for Sheffield Wednesday and in the Championship.

“The Championship excites me and the plans of the club going up higher makes me excited. I’ve always played in Holland and I want to try something different. ”

Twente signed Lachman last summer from PEC Zwolle, but the defender only made 15 Eredivisie appearances and fell out with the clubs management at one point.

Lachman is now a Curacao international after agreeing to represent the nation coached by Patrick Kluivert, instead of Netherlands.
