sigthorsson 2De Telegraaf reported this morning that QPR coach Harry Redknapp was present at the Amsterdam Arena to watch Ajax beat Feyenoord 3-1 in the KNVB Cup.

His reason for the visit was to watch Sigthorsson, who was a late substitute, as he looks for a new striker to help their promotion bid to the Premier League.

However the players agent and brother Andri Sigthórsson has told Ajax Showtime that the Icelandic international will not leave Ajax this month, especially for a Championship team.

He said, “Kolbeinn will not leave Ajax for a club in the first division. He is focused and will work hard to score many goals for Ajax. Everyone can call me, but Kolbeinn remains where he is.”

Sigthorsson joined Ajax from AZ Alkmaar in 2011, but has been in and out of the first team due to injuries, making only 57 appearances, in which he has netted 24 goals.
