Galatasaray owe Sneijder approximately €1 million, and the midfielder could turn to FIFA rulings in order to become a free agent from the club, should he wish too.
Speaking on the situation, Sneijder told De Telegraaf, “Its true that i am owed money. Galatasaray are working to get their finances in order.”
“But i am just concentrating on the Oranje. My management is talking to the club about a solution.”
Manchester United have constantly been linked with a move for the 30-year-old, but Sneijder has always spoken of his desire to stay at the Turkish club, where he is a fans favourite.
Sneijder has a contract with until 2016 in Turkey, and although Galatasaray were hoping to extend and upgrade his current deal, talks have been stopped until the club sorts out their finances.
