Dundee United have mutually terminated the contract of Dutch midfielder Rodney Sneijder.

The 24-year-old, who is the brother of Wesley Sneijder, joined the Scottish club this summer, but now leaves for health reasons after suffering a viral infection. The former Ajax youth prospect made one appearance in the SPL.
Dundee United boss Jackie McNamara said, “This is the best solution for Rodney first and foremost. We have a responsibility to protect the player’s health moving forward and respect his current situation.”
