Wesley Sneijder thinks the Netherlands national team is missing some quality after their opening World Cup 2-0 win over Senegal.

Netherlands needed two late goals from Cody Gakpo and Davy Klaassen to overcome Senegal on Monday.
Speaking to Voetbal International, Wesley Sneijder did not put the disappointing performance down to nerves, “It’s a matter of quality.
“I have not seen anyone who could give the decisive pass, at the right time, with the right speed. Those opportunities were really there. With the team of the 2010 World Cup, we had already led 3-0 at halftime.”
Sneijder does not agree with Louis van Gaal that Netherlands can lift the World Cup, “You have to express that as an ambition, I understand that. But deep down he also knows that it will be very difficult. I’ll stick to the quarterfinals.”
The midfielder also does not think the current squad have more quality than the 2014 one that contained Sneijder, “He can hardly say that this group is less than the one at the World Cup in 2014. But it is of course nonsense.”
I love ya Wes, but… Whaa?? This team lacks a lot of the qualities that the 2010 squad had, but also has mamy qualities that the 2010 squad lacked. The only right answer here is: this squad has to prove what they’re made of.
As a former National team player, I would have hope Wesley would have been more encouraging and supportive, his comments leave a bad taste and were better kept to himself, he dropped a notch with those remarks.
