Southampton have confirmed the signing of FC Twente defender Cuco Martina on a two-year-deal.

The Premier League club agreed a fee believed to be around €1.5 million with cash strapped FC Twente for the 25-year-old defender, who put pen to paper on Tuesday after completing his medical.
Capable of playing along the backline and also in front of the defence, Martina is a Curacao international, who made 48 Eredivisie appearances for Twente since joining them from RKC in 2013.
Martina said on the official Southampton website, “I’m very happy to be here at a big club like Southampton. I’ve followed Southampton now for two years and I see they are now a big club.
“I know Ronald Koeman and Erwin Koeman – I worked with Erwin for one year and everything was good. He knows my qualities and I know what he wants.
“It was a dream for me to play in the Premier League and finally I can play now. I hope to play many games and show the fans who I am.”
