Utrecht came from behind to see off Sparta Rotterdam with Kristoffer Peterson netting a last minute winner.

The hosts began the game brightly and deservedly took the lead on 25 minutes when Utrecht failed to clear a corner and Ivan Calero steered the ball into the net from close range.

However, the opening goal woke Utrecht up and they laid siege to the Sparta Rotterdam goal in search of an equaliser. Seven minutes into the second half, Utrecht found it with Willem Janssen heading past Ryan Korsmit.

Sebastien Haller then missed an excellent chance as the game appeared to be heading for a draw, but in the last minute, Peterson fired in a late winner.

The victory moves Utrecht to 6th while Sparta are 13th.
