Sparta Rotterdam have made an approach to sign PSV Eindhoven midfielder Adam Maher.

Dick Advocaat confirmed when he took charge of the Eredivisie strugglers last month that he would be looking to sign several players in the coming weeks.
Dabney Dos Santos of AZ Alkmaar is said to be a target and according to Eindhoven Dagblad, Sparta have also made an approach for Adam Maher of PSV. The midfielder has only appeared in one Eredivisie match so far this season and is six months away from becoming a free agent.
Sparta are interested in loaning Maher until the end of the season and the 24-year-old is said to be open on a move to Rotterdam. However, Sparta are not the only club interested and will face competition to sign the former AZ Alkmaar star.
