Sparta came from two goals down to claim a point at home to struggling Willem II.
A quiet first half was brought to life once Fran Sol put the visitors ahead on the stroke of half-time.
Willem II doubled their lead early in the second half, when Jordy Croux set up Sol to bag his second goal of the game.
However, moments after, Australian Craig Goodwin pulled one back for the home side and almost equalised straight after that, but hit the side-netting.
Erik Falkerburg came within inches of sealing what would have been only his side’s second win of the season when he hit the post from the edge of the area, but was made to curse his luck when Thomas Verhaar made the score 2-2 in injury time.
