Jaap Stam has been sacked by Reading FC with the club currently sitting 20th in the English Championship.

The former defender left Jong Ajax to take over at Reading at the beginning of last season and gained plaudits for guiding the club to the end of season promotion play-off final.
However, his second season in charge has been difficult and the Dutchman has now been sacked with the club facing a battle to avoid relegation. Reading currently sit three points above the bottom three and haven’t won a single game in their last nine matches.
Stam had a contract with the club until the end of next season.
