According to De Telegraaf, Jaap Stam has agreed a deal to become the new head coach of Feyenoord in the summer.

The former defender only took charge of PEC Zwolle in the summer but has now agreed to become the successor to Giovanni van Bronckhorst in Rotterdam.

Stam will sign a deal until 2021, with an official announcement expected in the coming days.

Stam was not Feyenoord’s first choice for the role but after Dick Advocaat turned the position down they moved swiftly for the 46-year-old.

Feyenoord will need to pay a fee to PEC Zwolle.
