Vreven stated the importance of his players adapting quickly to the level demanded in the Eredivisie.
He said, ”We wanted to make a game of it tonight and we did not manage to do that. Everybody involved with NAC Breda now knows what we are in the Eredivisie.
”I am not going to be too negative. This is our first game away from home against a difficult opponent. We have learnt more tonight than the whole of last season.
”Tonight you saw the Eredivisie level at first hand and we have to learn to grow into it and get used to the tempo. We learnt a good lesson tonight.
”We win together we lose together and I am also disappointed with myself but we must now look ahead to our first home match against PSV Eindhoven next weekend which will also be tough.
”My players must be conscious of the fact that we are now playing in the Eredivisie where it is a higher level and there is more quality than the Jupiler League.”
