NAC had never won at De Kuip in the Eredivisie but goals from Giovanni Korte and Thomas Enevoldsen saw them triumph 2-0 over the reigning champions.
Vreven said, “Football is a strange game where you begin the match at 0-0 and anybody can beating anybody.
“We suffered humiliation midweek losing to Achilles’29 and now we have beaten the reigning Champions in their own stadium in front of 50,000 fans.
“This is a proud moment for me to lead NAC Breda to their first Eredivisie win away to Feyenoord. I stated midweek that losing to Achilles’29 was the biggest disappointment of my career and tonight’s win is right up the with my cup win with FC Utrecht as a player.
“We showed a great fighting mentality and unity tonight and it’s tough to win the De Kuip. I am very proud of my young team and our deserved win.
“This result will give us confidence for upcoming matches and we must now show the game qualities in our next game at home to ADO Den Haag.
“I always demand passion and commitment from my players and if we can continue to show that as the season goes on then we can make life difficult for many Eredivisie teams.”
