After a long spell out of action, Kevin Strootman hopes to be back on the training field with his Roma teammates next month.

strootman romaddThe Dutchman was last on the pitch for Roma back in January before suffering a serious knee injury which saw him miss eight months of action. Strootman was nearing his comeback in September but a setback saw the midfielder undergo even more surgery to correct an issue.

Via his official Facebook page Strootman gave an update on his progress, and stated that he will know more on his comeback date next month.

Strootman said, “We are now three months after my knee surgery. I’m working on the field and it all feels very good. Four months after the operation, I hope to reconnect with the group. Then it should be clear where I stand. At this time, it is still difficult to say, but I feel fit and confident.”
