strootman romaddItalian Newspaper Gazzetta dello Sport is reporting that Strootman is tentatively eyeing a February return to the pitch, and plans on being 100% fit when he steps onto the field again. It’s been nearly two seasons and 3 surgeries since Strootman has played regular football, but the midfield general is optimistic in his most recent recovery.

He posted a video to his Facebook a few weeks ago to show his side of the story, and reassure fans of his health, strength and fitness. Should he make his comeback and impress, his return to the Netherlands Elftal could be against France in March, two years exactly from his first injury, playing against the same side. Given Holland will sit out this summer’s Euro Cup finals, Strootman may wait to rejoin the Dutch National team until they are closer to beginning their World Cup Qualifying campaign in September.

Despite two years on the sideline, Strootman is young and can still be a very important player for Holland, and his club for many years to come. Sterkte!

I'm a digital/social marketer out of Chicago. I grew up loving Dutch football - total football is the only way to play. I support PSV in the Eredivisie, and whatever team has the most Dutch guys on it in any other league. Hup Holland Hup!
