Strootman had been expected to return to the Roma line up in mid-September, but now La Gazzeta dello Sport are reporting that the 25-year-old will now be sidelined until October.
Its the second time in recent weeks that the Italian media has suggested the midfielder has suffered a setback. Strootman firmly denied the first story, but has not confirmed or denied Gazetta dello Sport’s article yet.
Strootman tore a ligament in his knee back in April 2014 and missed the World Cup last summer, with every recovery since being ruined by a new batch of surgery. In two years with Roma, Strootman has been restricted to 31 appearances.
To bad if true. he was a great player. I hope at some point he can get healthy. Then we can worry about his performance. just get back on the pitch!
