Ajax star Dusan Tadic has told De Telegraaf that he turned down a move to Barcelona last year because he is so happy in Amsterdam.

The Serbian winger was named Eredivisie Golden Shoe winner on Monday after an excellent campaign with Ajax that saw him contribute 14 goals and 18 assists.

Speaking with De Telegraaf, Tadic spoke about the interest from Barcelona, “That opportunity was there last year, but I didn’t go. This is my club and I do everything for it.

“It is the best decision of my life to go to Ajax. It has always been my dream club because of the philosophy, the many greats who have played here, the history, and the fans. Ajax is the most beautiful of all.”

Ajax are being linked with a move for AZ Alkmaar left-back Owen Wijndal and Tadic has spoken about how good a signing he would be for the club. However, Tadic will not approach Wijndal directly, “It is not necessary, I think. This Ajax is one of the best teams in Europe. If players do not have the feeling that they want to play here, that is unbelievable. Every player wants to go to Ajax.”
