Nicolas Tagliafico still believes Ajax has a chance against Real Madrid on Tuesday and responded to speculation linking him with a move to the Spanish giants.

The left-back was present alongside Erik ten Hag at Ajax’s press conference looking ahead to Tuesday’s second leg clash against Real Madrid.

Ajax need to overturn a 2-1 deficit but Tagliafico still thinks Ajax have a chance, “Of course, trust is always there. That is the last thing I lose. We are eager to reach the next round. On Tuesday we will have to work well together for ninety minutes and show the same as we did in Amsterdam.

“We played very well in the home game, but we were not effective enough. We have to deal better with our chances on Tuesday and strike as quickly as possible.”

A Spanish journalist asked Tagliafico about alleged interest from Real Madrid. He responded, “I am here to enjoy the present and only think about this match. I am currently at Ajax and am only working with this club. I will do everything I can to help my team as well as possible.”
