Renato Tapia’s father has denied his son is on his way to Celta Vigo but has confirmed there is interest in his son from Scotland.

Reports in Spain over the weekend claimed the 24-year-old midfielder, who will be a free agent this summer after leaving Feyenoord, is set to join Celta Vigo.

However, speaking to Ovación, Luis Tapia, has denied these reports, “He is currently training with Feyenoord. There are a lot of rumors going on, but officially we haven’t heard from Celta. We don’t know anything.”

Tapia senior confirmed there was interest from Rangers, Celtic and French club Angers SCO, but added, “There are a number of clubs interested in him, including both Celtic and Rangers from Scotland and Angers in France. Nothing has been decided yet. We are waiting for offers.”
