Ajax boss Erik ten Hag has been named the Eredivisie coach of the year.

Ten Hag was the big favourite for the Rinus Michel’s award ahead of other nominee’s Mark van Bommel (PSV), John van den Brom (AZ), Maurice Steijn (VVV Venlo) and Adrie Koster (Willem II)

On Friday, Ten Hag received the award which is his third trophy of the campaign after the Eredivisie title and the KNVB Cup.

It is the second time that Ten Hag has won the award after a successful season with Utrecht three years ago.

He succeeds Phillip Cocu, who won the award last year after guiding PSV to the title.

Mario Pusic was named the Keuken Kampioen Divisie manager of the year after guiding FC Twente to promotion.
