Ten Hag watched as Ajax came from behind to beat the Serie A giants thanks to goals from Donny van de Beek and Matthijs de Ligt.
Speaking to Veronica, Ten Hag said, “I am very proud of this team and of course my staff.
“Of course, it is not about me, but about the team. I now forget to mention many people, but we are all doing this.”
Analysing the game, he added, “We found it very difficult to get rid of their pressure in the beginning. Juventus put very opportunistic and high pressure. It was fighting football, but we were well organized and actually didn’t give anything away. On the other hand, we hardly got out of it, either.
“There were some things that could be improved and that is why we have implemented some things. We started playing with two midfielders just before the defense and then we got a lot more football and we got Juventus under pressure. They could not get out and there was room for us. We have had three or four very big chances, but it is great that we score precisely from a standard situation. “
Manchester City or Tottenham is now waiting for Ajax. Ten Hag isn’t planning for either side yet, “We first have to enjoy this. We have shown that we can handle all these different styles. We are constantly pushing boundaries, this group keeps on growing. A new challenge is coming up and we look forward to it. “
Ajax champion, the best team in champion league, de jong, de ligt, donny, blind and all ehe team are the champion
Ajax has had a lot of upheaval at the manager position the last few years, but I think they’ve finally found the right man in Ten Hag. Incredibly astute tactically and exudes calmness.
