Manchester United boss Erik ten Hag has confirmed that Donny van de Beek will get a chance to impress when he returns to fitness.

Van de Beek has barely featured for Manchester United this season and the past few weeks he has been struggling with an injury.

At his press conference on Friday, Ten Hag confirmed that Van de Beek would miss the clash with Everton this weekend, “He had a muscle injury that kept him sidelined for a few weeks. Now Donny is back on the training field. He is working, but still individually. He is not yet participating in the group training, we still have to wait for that. It goes without saying that he must be fit. That is of course a disadvantage.”

Van de Beek will get opportunities to impress, confirmed Ten Hag, “His chances will come. He came in against Brighton and did very well. But you have to be available. Otherwise, you can’t get a starting spot. He has to get fit and then fight for his place.”
