AZ headed to Serbia with confidence after their simple win over Sparta Rotterdam at the weekend and they dominated the early stages. Myron Boadu fired just wide before the opening goal came in the 12th minute.
Oussama Idrissi found Boadu who then set up Calvin Stengs to tap in from close range. AZ were very comfortable but in the 26th minute, Jonas Svensson was shown a straight red card for bringing down Takuma Asano.
From that point, Partizan took charge and just before half-time they were awarded a penalty when Stijn Wuytens took down former NAC striker Umar Sadiq. Bibras Natcho smashed the penalty past Marco Bizot to make it 1-1.
On the hour mark, Partizan took the lead when Sadiq hit the post before Natcho slotted in the rebound. That seemed to be a nail in the coffin for AZ but five minutes later they equalised. Stengs found Boadu with an excellent pass and the striker calmly slotted in the equaliser.
Partizan looked for the winning goal but the chances never materialised and AZ held on for what could be a precious point.
Good result for AZ, especially being down to 10 men for so long. The Stengs pass to Boadu for the equalizer was an absolute peach of a ball. Both are ones to watch for the future.
Good week in Europe for the Dutch….2 wins and a tough away draw. Feyenoord let them down. Early days still but based on the groups and first matches I think the other 3 Dutch teams have a decent chance of staying in Europe past Xmas, which would be fabulous for the coefficient.
Malen Boadu future front 2. Boadu just 18 & Stengs bust ok last season very hood this season. Lost Til who added a lot of goals but Koop as been good Captain. And front 3 of Idrissi & Boadu & Stengs is so fluid they all link up so well. And got Hakon Evjen from Bomo/Glimt 19yo RW too but reckon Stwngs or Hakon could play AM challenge de Wit.
Hakon 10 goals 4 assists in 20 looks real talant fast technical intelligent good move for all parties.
Yes the Durdh did well AJAX thought would win but Lille I like Osimhen & Bamba thought would for goalm but better for my Fabatasy had Taglifico & Onana & Ziyech.
