The striker only turned 17 this year but has been creating buzz in the ADO Den Haag Academy since joining the club in 2013, having had spells with Feyenoord, DSO and Haaglandia. Last season he managed to net six times in 18 games for the U19’s and also scored his first goal for Jong ADO Den Haag.

Earlier this summer he was selected for the Netherlands U17 squad participating at the European Championships, making three appearances as Oranje exited in the quarter-finals. ADO Den Haag boss Alfons Groenendijk rewarded the youngster for his form by promoting him to the first team this summer and he has proved his ability during pre-season, scoring six goals.

Style of play

Ladan is a predatory number nine who has shown in preseason that he can be lethal when given chances in the box. He isn’t a tall or particularly powerful forward, but he has good pace and an awareness beyond his years to show up in the right place at the right time. Ladan isn’t easy to brush off the ball, has a good first touch and a technically sound right foot. He is primarily a centre-forward but has the ability to go out wide if required.

What to expect from Ladan this season

With Mike Havenaar departing ADO Den Haag this summer, striking options at the Kyocera Stadion are limited and that may give Ladan his chance to make his official debut for the club. He is only 17 but his development over the last year has suggested that he could be ready for the first team and Eredivisie football.

It has been a while since ADO Den Haag produced any potentially top class talents, but Ladan looks a good prospect and one to definitely watch over the next few years.
