19-year-old Dylan George may find himself relied upon for goals in the cash-strapped FC Twente frontline this season. What qualities can he bring?

George only made his first team debut in March but already looks set to play an important role in Twente’s fortunes this season.
7 goals in 22 appearances for Jong Twente has brought the attention of trainer René Hake. That tally included a hat-trick against Vitesse’s B-team which displayed George’s best attributes: dribbling, finishing and late runs into the penalty area.
The Dutchman has been with Twente since he was an early teenager and looks set to have a bright future, playing in the same position as former stars of Enschede such as Quincy Promes and Dusan Tadic.
Style of Play
Similar to Promes, George is explosive coming in from both the right and left flanks. In a recent interview, he admitted he is still working on his speed and concentration – two important qualities in the Eredivisie.
The youngster bases himself off teammate Oussama Assaidi, a style seen in George’s dribbling.
Another part of George’s game is his threat in the air. Appearing at the back post to win headers is another interesting element to his repetoir, and his only goal to date for Twente’s senior side was a header at the near post from a corner, in one of eight games in the last campaign.
What to expect from George this season
The winger said (in an interview with Twente TV) that he wants to become a pivotal part of Twente’s squad next season and hold down a first team berth. That’s likely given the club’s predicament and low chance of bringing in new faces.
George is likely to battle it out with Finnish international Fredrik Jensen for a place in the team, another 19-year-old emerging from the youth ranks at the club.
