Floranus has quickly risen through the youth ranks with Sparta Rotterdam and just days before his 17th birthday he started last season’s Eerste Divisie opener against FC Eindhoven.

The youngster was in every Sparta Rotterdam match-day squad last season, appearing in twelve matches, including five starts. The youngster also made his debut for the Netherlands U19’s last season, but was left out of the squad for the European Championships, which allowed him to fully take part in preparations for Sparta Rotterdam’s return to the Eredivisie.

Style of play

Floranus is an attack minded full-back in the mould of former Sparta Rotterdam academy graduate, Jetro Willems. Quick, skillful and a good tackler, Floranus has all the capabilities of being a top full-back in the future, and can also fill in on the right wing.

What does the season hold for Floranus?

Floranus career has progressed rapidly over the past year and he will now look to take the next step in his development by becoming a regular in the Eredivisie. He may start the season as second choice right back, but expect to see plenty of the 17-year-old as Sparta Rotterdam’s campaign develops.
