Steven Bergwijn has described how it felt to score on his Premier League debut for Tottenham Hotspur.

After making the move to Tottenham Hotspur from PSV back in January, Bergwijn made an immediate impact with a debut goal in the win against Manchester City.

Asked about his debut by the PSV twitter account, Bergwijn responded, “It is not even understandable. You might also see in my face that I didn’t really know what to do. I went from side to side. It was just like a dream.”

Spurs boss Jose Mourinho asked Bergwijn if he was ready to start straight away, “I think I heard it during training two days before the game. Then he asked me, “Do you want to play, are you ready to play?” Yes, of course . That’s how it went.”

Bergwijn already feels at home with his new teammates, “It is a good, fun, young group with some Dutch speaking boys too. That also makes it easy. Immediately I was well received. It just clicked immediately, anyway with those Dutch-speaking boys and also with Dele Alli, Son and Sessegnon.”
