According to reports in Turkey, Everton are set to complete the surprise signing of Dutch international Wesley Sneijder from Galatasaray.
Galatasaray are struggling financially with UEFA banning the club from European competitions for the next two years. A number of players are expected to leave the club this summer, including Wesley Sneijder, who is being linked with Ronald Koeman’s Everton.
According to Turkish, Everton have triggered Sneijder’s €7.5 million release clause, and are closing in on the 32-year-old.
Mokotjo commits to Twente
Kamahelo Mokotjo has pledged his future to FC Twente after their top flight status was confirmed by the KNVB.
Twente’s proposed relegation threatened the future of a number of their players including Mokotjo, but the South African has told De Telegraaf that he is “going nowhere” and is set to honour the two years left on his contract.
Lumu moves to Austria
Jeroen Lumu has left Dordrecht to sign for Austria side Sankt Polten on a two-year-deal.
The 21-year-old winger made 23 appearances for Dordrecht last season, scoring five goals, but has decided to leave the club for a foreign adventure.
Sparta Rotterdam take duo on trial
Eredivisie newcomers Sparta Rotterdam will give Dane Domic and Tadej Apatič the chance to impress the club on trial.
Domic, a 19-year-old midfielder, and Apatič a 28-year-old left back will join up with the club during their first training session on Saturday and try to earn a deal.
Domic recently played for Canadian side Calgary Villains, while Apatič is a free agent after leaving Austrian amateur side Deutschlandsberger SC.
