kongofeymaThe versatile 20-year-old defender, who can play across the backline, is now a permanent fixture of the Feyenoord starting eleven having made his league debut in 2012, and is a two-time Netherlands international.

Manchester United boss Louis van Gaal, who took Kongolo to the World Cup in the summer, has targeted the defender as a possible January signing, with the Daily Star reporting that they could sign him for £3 million and loan him back to Feyenoord until the rest of the season.

However Manchester City are now believed to have entered the race, and they have an advantage over their rivals with Rodney Kongolo, the brother of Terence, already a member of their youth squad. The Premier League champions are hoping that a reunion of the brothers may put them ahead in the race to sign the talented young Dutchman.

Kongolo has made 43 appearances for Feyenoord and has a contract in Rotterdam until 2017.
