wij psv fffThe Daily Express are reporting that Louis Van Gaal may make a move for PSV captain Georginio Wijnaldum this summer, having already sealed the deal in getting Memphis Depay to sign for the Premier League giants. While United’s midfield is stacked, leaving almost no chance of Wijnaldum getting solid playing time, there are a few indications both parties may at least toy around with the idea of a move.

When asked which player improved the most at last summer’s World Cup, Van Gaal definitively gave credit to Wijnaldum, who was a surprise inclusion given he missed almost the entire previous season due to injury. Wijnaldum also recently said he would to reunite with his former national team coach, claiming the two work well together and enjoy a good report.

United are looking to bolster up their squad with Champions League football all but guaranteed, but with Wijnaldum having to battle Ander Herrera, Juan Mata, Di Maria and possibly Januzaj and Depay for a spot, he may look to bring his talents else where. Champions league semi-finalists Juventus have reportedly been interested in him for quite some time.

I'm a digital/social marketer out of Chicago. I grew up loving Dutch football - total football is the only way to play. I support PSV in the Eredivisie, and whatever team has the most Dutch guys on it in any other league. Hup Holland Hup!
