Anthony Lurling a living Eerste Divisie legend. Kalkeren Kerian pays tribute to the veteran midfielder.

lurling den jbdjFC Den Bosch attacking midfielder Anthony Lurling is the most capped active player’s in the Dutch Eerste Divisie, his figures are truly outstanding and the 37-Year-old deserves all the applause he gets throughout the rest of his career

Lurling began his career with FC Den Bosch in the 1994/95 season, in his first spell for the club he appeared 135 times and netted an impressive 56 goals, Although he moved to Fresien side Sc Heerenveen during the 1999/2000 season, It was a move that proved to be the right one as instantly he became a one of the fans favourites, He played 92 times for Sc Heerenveen. He also played for several other Dutch club including Feyenoord, RKC Waalwijk, NAC Breda, and traveled to Germany to play for FC Koln. Lurling was highly rated at NAC Breda and spent seven straight seasons with the club until a short loan spell back to Sc Heerenveen ended with Lurling signing once again for his beloved FC Den Bosch.

A move that was strongly approved by the Den Bosch supporters, so much so that Lurling was woke at two o’clock one morning after the news had broke that he had returned to Den Bosch, to witness banners outside his house, welcoming him back to the club.

Lurling has appeared 15 times this season for Den Bosch, scoring twice. Although he is currently playing as an amateur for the side on a two-year-contract

Anthony Lurling has appeared in 568 matches, the majority of these matches have been played with Den Bosch, NAC Breda and Sc Heerenveen, he has also scored a well-respected 145 times, although Lurling has only ever won the Dutch Eerste Divisie once with Den Bosch in the 1999/2000 season
