FC Twente missed several chances as they were held to a 0-0 draw by Roda JC on Friday.

The home side dominated possession from the start but struggled to break through a rigid Roda JC side that set up to frustrate Twente’s attack.
Peet Bijen headed an early chance from a corner over the bar before Yaw Yeboah and Mateusz Klich both went close. However, the best chance of the first half fell to Roda JC with Mitchell Paulissen racing through on goal, but the midfielder couldn’t apply the finish when faced with Nick Marsman.
The second half saw Twente continue to dominate but they found an inspired Benjamin van Leer in their way. The Roda goalkeeper made excellent saves from Jari Oosterwijk, Enes Unal and Yeboah to keep the score level. In injury time, Unal should have netted the winner but his header from point blank range was straight at van Leer.
The draw keeps Twente fifth while Roda JC rises off the bottom to 17th.
