In an extraordinary game in Enschede 10-man FC Twente came from behind to beat De Graafschap 2-1 thanks to an injury time Hakim Ziyech strike.

twe e graTwente made a promising start to the game bu disaster struck on 34 minutes when Nick Marsman fouled Nathan Kabasele, earning the goalkeeper a red card and the away side a penalty. Cas Peters missed the spot-kick but Andrew Driver fired in the rebound to put De Graafschap ahead.

However Twente equalised two minutes later when a Hakim Ziyech free kick was worked into the net by Joachim Andersen and from that moment the 10-man took charge.

Through Renato Tapia and Jerson Cabral the home side created chances, with the latter sending a strike against the post early in the second half. Fifteen minutes from time Tapia set up Jari Oosterwijk, but with only Hidde Jurjus to beat the striker fired straight at the goalkeeper.

At the other end De Graafschap had a goal disallowed through Kabasale, while substitute goalkeeper Joel Drommel brilliantly kept out Karim Tarfi’s goal bound strike.

Heading into injury time De Graafschap were pushing for a winner which left space at the back, and after Hakim Ziyech was played through on the left hand side the midfielder smashed a strike past Jurjus to hand Twente the points.

Twente remain 16th but close on safety, while De Graafschap remain rooted to the bottom and are now eight points adrift.
