The 20-year-old has broken into the Enschede’s first team this season, making eight appearances so far and is expected to be a regular for the rest of the campaign.
Speaking to VI, van der Lely has admitted he is dreaming of a future move to the Premier League, with Arsenal his preferred destination having followed them since his childhood.
He said, “If it was up to me, I would play for Arsenal.
“The Premier League attracts me a lot and one club I have to mention is Arsenal.
“The club have intrigued me since my childhood and as a child I used to sit and watch whenever there were Arsenal games on TV, I especially enjoyed their football.
“Arsenal play the passing game and it is more stylish and sophisticated than the typical English game.”
