The 31-year-old passed his medical and signed his contract in Enschede on Monday to complete the free transfer. He has been without a club since leaving 1860 Munich at the end of the season.
Leindl told the Twente website, “FC Twente is still a big name, but I also know that the club has had a difficult period and there is now a relatively young team on the field. With my experience and quality, I hope to help the team further. ”
Leindl had spells with Austria Vienna and Fortuna Dusseldorf before joining 1860 Munich in 2015. In 57 league matches, he netted 12 goals.
