FC Twente have completed the signing of Standard Liege midfielder Lindon Selahi on a free transfer.

The 20-year-old was out of contract in Belgium and has now signed a two-year deal with FC Twente, who have the option to extend for a third.

Twente director Ted van Leeuwen told the club’s website, “While we were following another player, Lindon Selahi suddenly crossed our path. A technically very skilled defensive midfielder of 20 years, with a strong drive. We thought he would be a player for the future. He still needs to take some steps, but has everything to become a great player.”

The Albanian youth international becomes Twente’s second signing in two days after they brought in experienced full-back Paul Verhaegh on Wednesday.
