FC Twente poor start to the season continued on Saturday evening as they went down 2-0 away at PEC Zwolle. Their third straight defeat of the campaign.

The home side dominated from the beginning with Younes Namli seeing an early effort come back off the bar. Eventually, PEC Zwolle took the lead on 33 minutes with Youness Mokhtar playing a one-two with Bram van Polen before hammering a shot into the bottom corner.

FC Twente came out in the second half looking for a way back into the game but Tom Boere fired their best chance of the game over the bar.

With fifteen minutes to go, Kingsley Ehizibue was brought down by Dejan Trajkovski in the box and Van Polen netted the resulting penalty to ensure victory for PEC Zwolle.

Twente are still bottom of the table, while PEC Zwolle have seven points and currently sit top.
